Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill (fourth right) with the newly appointed GNSC board of directors

Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill on Monday installed a new Board of Directors to serve the Guyana National Shipping Corporation (GNSC).

The new appointees include Chairman, Euclin Gomes and Directors, Andrew Astwood, Rajendra Paul, Oswald Chislom, Miguel Choo-Kang, Claudette Rogers, Dmitri Alli and Desmond Morian.

Edghill said that collectively the new board has a wealth of expertise in law, engineering, community activism and the Maritime. He charged the team to be innovate to bring about the changes needed at the entity.

The Minister charged the Board of Directors to lift GNSC’s standards by ensuring competitive prices are instituted. He reminded that transparency and accountability are the hallmarks of an efficient operation.

The board will operate for a period of one year.
