Dear Editor,

I am writing to inform those in authority that a relationship appears to exist between the Ministry of Public Health through Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), Cardiology Services Inc. (CSI) and Caribbean Heart Institute (CHI), whereby, the CHI through its shareholders are occupying space in GPHC and are using its facilities (through an agreement?), while the Doctor who owns CSI and is employed in a full time capacity at GPHC and heads several sections, has a private arrangement with CHI, which is of questionable benefit to the taxpayers. I also believe that the non-government shareholders of CHI are non-residents and may be benefiting from the exploitation of Guyanese patients. As it is a new Government that may not be aware of the wheeling dealing that goes on at CHI, it is advisable that the Government conducts an immediate and detailed enquiry  into the working of CHI and its financial relationship with GPHC and CSI.
