Man dies after falling off bike at Diamond

A man died on Sunday after falling off his motorcycle at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.

In a statement police said they are investigating the fatal accident which ocurred on Sunday about 17:45 hours on Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara. The accident involved Motor Cycle #CG 3100 owned and driven by Marlon Fiedtkou, age 40 years of Lot 14 Delph Street Campbellville, Georgetown .

Initial enquiries suggest that the motorcycle was proceeding north along the western carriageway of Diamond Public Road, East  Bank Demerara at a fast rate of speed when the driver lost control and fell on to the road surface where he received injuries about his body.  He was afterwards picked up in a conscious condition by police ranks and escorted to the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty and later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was further seen and examined by a doctor and admitted a patient in the Accident and Emergency Unit Critical Bay suffering from a punctured lungs and lacerations about his body.  He later succumbed to his injuries whilst receiving attention. The body of the deceased is presently in the Georgetown Public Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
