Man arrested for sexually assaulting woman

Police are investigating  an alleged sexual  activity committed on a 37-years old  woman living in West Coast Demerara by a 44 year old man.

Initial enquiries revealed that the suspect and the victim were at the same address.

According to the victim, on Friday she  overheard the suspect saying he wanted to perform oral sex with her, but she paid him no mind. About 23:00hrs Friday she was asleep in the room when she felt the suspect touching her inappropriately and immediately raised an alarm at which time the suspect ran out the room, and out of the house to an unknown destination.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and is in custody.

Investigation into the matter is on going.
