The police disclosed that the suspect is a 51 year old male, a farmer of Block 22, Wismar, Linden.

Enquiries revealed that the deceased and suspect are known to each other and on Tuesday, the suspect took a construction net to Bourda Market to sell, where he met the Chester who offered to have it sold.

The suspect gave the net to the deceased who left shortly after looking for a sale, but he never returned.

On Wednesday, the suspect armed with a kitchen knife, returned to Bourda Market in search of the Chester whom he met through a track leading to North road.

The suspect then asked him for his proceeds, and because he refused, it resulted in a heated argument during which the suspect pulled out the knife from his waist and stabbed the deceased to his left side upper chest in the vicinity of the heart.

After receiving the injury, the Chester ran and fell a short distance away and became motionless.

He was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical doctor.

The suspect was arrested at the scene with a knife, suspected to be the murder weapon, by police ranks who were on patrol within close proximity.

He is presently in  custody assisting with the investigation.
