Counterfeit money found in Crabwood Creek home

Police raided a home at Crabwood Creek on Monday evening and found $320,000.00 suspected to be forged Guyana currency notes to wit sixty four $5,000 notes.

A police release said the party of policemen acted on information received and visited the Grant 1803 Crabwood Creek, Corriverton home at about 21:30hrs.

Following that search, additional information was received and the ranks carried out another search at a home located at Grant 1806, Sea Dam, Crabwood Creek, Corriverton, where several items were found. These items included: one white HP Desk Jet Printer; and two laptop computers.

It is suspected that the computers and printer were used to produce the forged notes.

The suspects along with the forged currency notes and devices were taken to Springlands Police Station where they remain in custody assisting with the investigation. Enquiries are continuing.
