The Office of the Prime Minister will now be at Colgrain House, Camp Street, Georgetown.
Former PM, Moses Nagamootoo’s office was in one of the buildings at the Office of the President. In a news release OPM said Prime Minister, Mark Phillips and Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister, Kwame McCoy on Friday met with the staff of the former Ministry of Public Telecommunications during a walkabout at the Colgrain House.
Prime Minister Phillips and Minister McCoy toured the facility and were introduced to staff within the departments while also being apprised of the functions and duties of various units including the Industry and Innovation Unit` which conducts ICT training across the country. The staff were enthused to meet the ministers and expressed their willingness to work to ensure a smooth transition, the release stated.
Telecommunications is one of the functions that will fall under the portfolio of the Prime Minister within the new government.
