The dead man has been identified as Thoussant Job, a father of three of Lot 25 No. 22 Village, WCB.

Reports are that at around 19:00h, Job, a carpenter, was riding his motorcycle heading along the Public Road when he collided with a car which was attempting to make a U-turn.

The car is owned by Donna Fraser Sears and was driven by 28-year-old Devon Sears of Plantation Brahn West Coast Berbice.

According to Police, Sears made a U-turn from north to south into the path of the motorcycle which was proceeding east along the northern side of the Public Road.

“…As a result of the impact the motor cyclist fell into the southern grass parapet and received injuries about his body,” a statement by the Police said.

Job was picked up in an unconscious condition and rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, a breathalyzer test was conducted on Sears, which gave a reading of zero micrograms of alcohol.

The driver of the car is assisting the Police with their investigations into the fatal accident.

Both the motorcycle and the car are stationed at the Fort Wellington Police Station for examination by the licensing and certifying officer.
