Initial enquiries disclosed that the  deceased’s reputed wife was at their shop when the suspects approached and held her by her hair.  Having observed this, her reputed husband went to the woman’s  assistance when the other two suspects pounced on him and dealt him several lashes about his body with a piece of wood until he became motionless. He was then dragged a short distance away where one of the suspects took out a knife and slit Allam’s throat, whilst another suspect held him down.

On completion of the wounding, the suspects then proceeded into the shop and removed some raw gold but did not harm the reputed wife after she pleaded for her life.

The victim was subsequently picked up by the police and escorted to Port Kaituma Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty and body subsequently escorted to the hospital’s mortuary where it awaits PME.

On Saturday about 09:00 hrs, police at Port Kaituma acting upon information received went to the water front and arrested the three suspects who are presently in police custody while the investigation continues.
