Sources told Village Voice News, British High Commissioner to Guyana, Jane Miller, is set to temporarily leave her position. Acting in the capacity whilst Miller is away will be former High Commissioner Greg Quinn who will return to Guyana.

Greg Quinn

A diplomatic source told this publication this is a strange or unique development because normally the deputy will step up and act in the position.

Stranger is that people in the diplomatic community are questioning whether Miller has been recalled. Also, it has never before happened where a previous High Commissioner has returned in the same capacity.

The move comes amidst the United Kingdom planned dispatch of its warship, HMS Trent, to Guyana this month.

Village Voice News will be following the development of this story.
