Forty-one-year-old Mayelin Cordova, a female Venezuelan national and businesswoman of Byderabo Road, Bartica, Region #7, who is presently serving a 6 months prison sentence for Operating a Brothel, is to be further charged by ranks of the Guyana Police Force’s Trafficking in Persons Unit with 9 counts of Trafficking in Persons.
Between March 15th, 2023 and April 30th, 2023 nine female Venezuelan nationals were trafficked to Guyana and exploited between Crusher Hill and Barakat Backdam, Cuyuni Mazaruni River, Region 7.
