“The key objective of this event is to really bring together the oil and gas experts in Guyana’s Government and also the private sector and local businesses to discuss opportunities, best practices, and ways forward in the energy sector in Guyana,” GFEn Vice President (Production), Tiago Marques informed the media.

Some of the topics to come include diversifying the economy, new business areas, local content, health and safety, the energy future and more. The summit will also feature breakout rooms which will allow for closer engagements with experts and greater opportunities for networking. University students and women will also be specially accommodated at the Summit to ensure that they begin to learn about the future of the industry.

GFEn has 22 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and relationships with over 60 Governments and National Oil Companies. The company delivers conferences, exhibitions, and training globally that focuses on energy and infrastructure.
GCCI President, Nicholas Boyer said that the GCCI is one of the oldest and largest business lobbying bodies in Guyana responsible for facilitating such events in the country. He said that he is pleased with the GFEn initiative and looks forward to seeing the conference pushing the boundary of thought around the industry.

“The Chamber is very happy to be a part of that and it’s something that we are proud of in terms of being a leading advocate for the oil and gas industry,” he said. “We want to increase the local participation and really bring a lot of these conversations home to Guyana because, over time, we will develop our own indigenous experts in each topic of conversation within the oil and gas field.”
