Housewife charged for possession of 29.1 grams of cannabis

The Guyana Police Force in a statement said 34-year-old housewife, Melissa Gillard, of Great Diamond, East Bank Demerara was arrested on February 8th, 2023 for possession of 29.1 grams of cannabis and appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore on the February 9th, 2023 at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court where she answered to the charge.
The defendant during her appearance pleaded guilty to the offense when the charge was laid to her. As such, she was fined $5,000 along with 2 months of community service.
