21yr old Romeza Ceasar is investing in the children of Port Kaituma by preparing them for a future that may involve technology careers.  Before that happens though, she has to ensure that they are able to pass their maths and english and science school lessons.  Ms Ceasar invests in her community’s children by leading a Learning Pod after-school program in her community and in her spare time she enjoys reading, writing and dancing. Her life in Port Kaituma, she reports, is quite fulfulling.

Ms Romeza teaches a fourth grade class at the Port Kaituma Primary School and in 2021, she was recruited to volunteer with the Port Kaituma Learning Pod.  In early 2022, she accepted an opportunity to become the Learning Pod leader, a position which she finds most rewarding.

Ms Ceasar reports that, “running a learning pod wasn’t easy especially when you’re intent on achieving good results for the children.  The learners at my leaning pod are brilliant and we are forever thankful to STEMGuyana and the IDB for choosing this particular community to be apart of such wonderful and amazing program”

Ms Romeza Cesar shares that engaging her learners in technology and robotics has made them see themselves in a whole new and different world.  She reports that as a coach she has also been impacted positively by the program and has learned new things from both the program’s technology class as well as STEMGuyana’s “Robin the Robot” tv show.

Ms Cesar looks forward to a rewarding future with the Learning Pods program and she is committed to guiding her learners to achieve success in any career they ultimately choose.
