Parika Learning pod club leader Eboni Ross is a mother of two wonderful children and more than 100 community children whom she has mentored and taught over the past 6 years.  Ms Ross is a product of the 5yr contract partnership between the Department of Youth and STEMGuyana, which saw more than 50 young people, identified by the Department of Youth, to be trained as Master Trainers in robotics and coding so that they might share their knowledge with young people from STEM clubs throughout the country.

Not only is Eboni currently the leader of the Parika Learning pod but she has also trained school coaches within many primary and secondary schools in region 3 prior to the COVID pandemic and has worked with STEMGuyana on many regional outreach programs.

Today, Eboni continues to contribute to the development of her community through leadership of her club in Parika.  Ms Ross shared that, “managing a learning pod is not easy work.  Some days we are faced with different tasks to be done that are designed to inspire our young scholars.  We teach them coding and robotics in addition to math, english and science and the goal of most of our work is to expose them to a whole new world of technology and to give them enough knowledge so that their choices can be significantly expanded.”

Eboni continues to make a significant contribution, not only to Parika but also to her county and today we celebrate her for her commitment to the development of Guyana.
