The Guyana Police Force, in a statement, said the incident occurred at approximately 16:50hrs on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at a restaurant located in Back Street, Goed Intent, W.B.D.

Police investigations have thus far revealed that Cummings and one of his friends were passing from the backdam when they saw another group of friends, including the two suspects, consuming alcohol at a restaurant.

“At that time the suspect had his cutlass in his hand and they were invited to take a shot of Blackstone rum which they agreed. As they did a they began [taunting] each other and the now deceased said he was going home and walked out the shop. An argument ensued between him and another male,” the police reported.

It is alleged that Cummings hit the other man which led to one of the suspects taking away his cutlass, pushing him against a wall while the other suspect pulled out a knife and dealt the victim a chopped to his head and a stab to his chest.
