He had barely begun his eulogy, and as soon as he mentioned that he was bringing condolences from the government mourners erupted- some advancing towards him. It took attorney Darren Wade to safely escorted both Todd and Dharamlall to their vehicles before the crowd calmed down.
Residents in the area had protested for one week following the slaughtering of the cousins Joel and Isaiah Henry.

The hour- long service was attended by hundreds of mourners  clad in black, white and red. Many who had travelled from villages all along the coast and from even as far south and Linden wore branded t-shirts with illustrations of the two boys.
The service was interrupted by loud wails from relatives and friends of the two lads who were  eulogised as normal and fun loving youths within the village where they grew up .

In a moving eulogy former Minister of Social Protection Ms Amna Ali deplored the victimisation of Afro Guyanese since the advent of the PPPC in Government in August.

She vowed that the APNU AFC coalition would not sit idly by but would do all that is necessary for the PPPC to govern the country in the interest of all Guyanese.

Joel and Isaiah’s bodies were discovered on a coconut estate aback of the Cotton Tree Village on the West Coast of Berbice last Sunday. The teenagers were hacked to death, with the pathologist report indicating too that their spines were severed after they were severely chopped about their heads.
Another youth Haresh Singh was murdered on Wednesday. It is reported that he was a close friend of the cousins and might have witnessed the killing of the boys. Police are continuing with investigations . No one has been charged as yet.
