GTT on Friday awarded 12 bursaries to children of its employees who excelled at this year’s National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).

“We continue to fulfill our goal of positively impacting the lives of our trusted employees,” said GTT’s Director of Employee Experience, Tiana Gurcharran during the brief handover ceremony at the company’s 79 Head Office location.

In a press release GTT said Gurcharran reminded the students that, “Focus, passion and commitment, although not a finite list, are necessary to build a good foundation and move the students from one stage to another to form a successful future.”

The EE Director explained that the company’s bursary awards programme was created as a benefit for all GTT employees, whose children excel during the yearly NGSA.

“This initiative is also aimed at encouraging our budding leaders to keep thriving as they move on to the next level. We want them to know that their efforts are recognised every step of the way, and their parents’ place of work is also a part of their support system,” Gurcharran said.

The students all received a cheque from the company, along with tablets, speakers and other GTT merchandises. Among the Awardees are Ryan Anthony Hunte, Tayden Hartley, Azriel Natassia Khia Edwards, Sajada Makaiah Evans, Daniella Alicia Troyer, Clevona Monifa Thomas, Tiana Otavia Harris, Samara Bristol, Keitanna Percival, Shawn Andre Smith, Jaidev Kumar Deonarine and Ashmita Sammy.

According to Gurcharran, once the students maintain a pass rate of 65 percent at the end of the school term, they will continue to benefit from the company’s bursary award programme throughout their secondary school life.
