…or provision of negative PCR test
The CARICOM Secretariat has instituted measures, as of October 1, 2021, requiring proof of vaccination for staff members and all persons seeking to enter its offices to do business.
This was announced in a statement by the Secretariat on Tuesday. It further stated that staff members and members of the public who are not vaccinated would require a PCR test no older than seven days to enter the offices.
It was noted that the decision was made “in order to provide a safe working environment for its staff, in keeping with attempts to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus”.
The decision is also in keeping with Government’s Emergency COVID-19 Measures as of September 4, 2021, which require COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR test for entry into public buildings.

According to the measure, any person who fails to comply with any of these measures commits an offence under Section 152 of the Public Health Ordinance and is liable on summary conviction to the penalty provided under that section.
TheSecretariat is the principal administrative organ of the Community with Headquarters in Georgetown, Guyana. Its mandate is to contribute, in support of Member States, to the improvement of the quality of life of the people of the Community and the development of an innovative and productive society in partnership with institutions and groups working towards attaining a people-centred, sustainable and internationally competitive Community.
