Paul Cheong new chairman of GuyOil, Manniram Prashad to head Gaming Authority

Chairman of the Guyana Oil Company (GuyOil), Paul Cheong

Cabinet has approved the appointment of the Board of Directors for the Guyana Oil Company (GuyOil) and the Guyana Gaming Authority.

According to a publication in the Official Gazette, Paul Cheong has been appointed the new Chairman of GuyOil. Cheong was also recently appointed Chairman of the National Industrial and Commercial Investments Limited (NICIL).

The other Members on GuyOil’s Board are Shameer Hussain, Abina Moore, Dr. Vishnu Bandhu, Akanni Blair, and Dru Bahadur. Meanwhile, Former Trade and Tourism Minister, Manniram Prashad, has been re-appointed Chairman of the Guyana Gaming Authority, which falls under the Tourism Industry and Commerce Sector. Mr. Prashad had served as Chairman of the Gaming Authority back in 2012

The other Board members are Abena Moore, Genevieve Blackman, Sase Gunraj, and Mark Conway. The appointments took effect on August 27, 2020 and will both run for a period of one year, until August 26, 2021. (DPI)
