The National COVID-19 Task Force (NCTF) has reminded all airlines operators in Guyana that all persons utilizing airports, aerodromes and airstrips in the country must be vaccinated.
It has also reminded these operators that all public transportation service operators and conductors must be fully vaccinated according to the Government’s gazetted COVID-19 Emergency Measures.
The update was shared on Friday by NCTF Director Col. Nazrul Hussain and implementation is expected by October 1, 2021.
He stated: “The National COVID-19 Task Force wishes to inform all airline operators, local and foreign, that your respective airline operations and services are required to comply with Section 15(2)(a) of the Gazetted COVID-19 Emergency Measures (No.21), which states that every operator and conductor of any public transportation service shall be vaccinated and have in their possession an official identification card and their vaccine card.”
It added that all airline operators and services are also required to implement and enforce Section 17 of the said measures which state that persons who wish to access services at Government agencies must be vaccinated or possess their PCR est result of no less than 7 days. The only alternative is a Certification of Vaccination Exemption from a fully registered medical practitioner.
Hussain expounded: “For this purpose, all airports, aerodromes and airstrips in Guyana are considered as providing such services.”
