…proof of vaccination, negative PCR test mandatory

Completing the Passenger Locator/ Health Declaration Form is no longer required for travel to Guyana, the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) has announced.

After international travel resumed during the COVID-19 pandemic in Guyana, the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) had made it mandatory that any person seeking to fly into Guyana from abroad—including U.S. citizens—must complete a Passenger Locator Form and comply with testing guidelines.

The Form was required to be submitted 24 hours prior to travel and would take information inclusive of where the traveller would be residing during their stay and personal health information for any disease including COVID-19.

However, in a statement on Wednesday, the CJIA noted: “To further enhance the passenger travel experience, a decision was taken to discontinue the use of the form with immediate effect.”

It was done under the condition that, for entry to Guyana, persons are only required to present proof of vaccination and a negative PCR test.
