Miss Caesar, a trained teacher with over 33 years of experience, graduated from the Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) in 1988.

After migrating to Canada in 1993, Miss Caesar saw the need for the reformation of early childhood education in Guyana, which motivated her to return seven years after. Prior to her return, she opened a daycare center called ‘TryAngle Daycare,’, located in La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara.

In an interview with Village Voice Newspaper, Miss Caesar said the idea to open a childcare center in Georgetown was birthed out of the need for greater improvement in early childhood education in the country. The new educational facility – Right Start Childcare Center – is intended to help close the gap.

The longstanding educator explained that Right Start Childcare Center will not only attend to the academic needs of children, but their health, emotional, social needs.

Miss Caesar expressed disappointment that enough is not done in Guyana to ensure daycare facilities operate at an optimal standard, however, through Right Start Childcare Center, she intends to provide children with the best experience.

Some of the services that the Right Start Childcare Center provides are robotic learning for kindergarten, chest clubs, art, music and reading classes – each of which provides a profound amount of learning.

The childcare center is unique, Miss Caesar said, noting that it stands out because of it also offers Spanish in addition to English.

“There are teachers who will be teaching Spanish and I believe with the right start if you want to learn a new language you should start from young,” she said.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Right Start Childcare Center will be accepting 25 students, post-COVID another 10.

Miss Caesar said already health and safety measures have been put in place to protect children from the virus. All students will be sanitised upon entry, and will be taken care of thoroughly.

The center will commence operation from Monday August 23. It is opened from Monday to Friday, from 7AM to 5pm. The center will also be catering for working parents. Drop-in programmes will be on Saturday and extra curriculum activities will be on Sunday. In the near future, the center will provide a 24-hour service to accommodate each parent. Miss Caesar can be contacted on 661-7650 OR 633-1480.
