Police investigation thus far revealed that the businessman along with his son and a work-man travelled to Parika from Leguan after conducting business on Monday.

During the course of Monday, the businessman filed a complaint at the Parika Police Station that part of his money went missing while he was socializing at a hotel. The police had accompanied him and made checks.

“Awhile after the victim alleges that as he was at the Parika junction awaiting a pick up to go home, the two perpetrators came from the side of him, placed something to his side and told him “pass everything you got.

They then proceeded to take away his cellular phone and his haversack that was on his back containing the said cash and escaped,” the police detailed.

The businessman pursued the two thieves to the Parika fisheries road but they made good their escape on foot to an unknown direction.

The businessman was robbed of $ 1,277, 000 in cash and a Samsung A 20 cellular phone valued $ 40,000.
The matter was then reported to the police and the identities of the two suspects were stated by the victim’s work-man.
Checks were made in Parika Seadam but the suspects were not found. The police are continuing their investigation.
