Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs, Hugh Todd announced on Monday evening, several key appointments in his ministry.
These appointments include; former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carol Rodrigues-Burkett, for the post of Guyana’s Ambassador to the United Nations. She will also take up the Chair of the G-77 + China. Former Minister of Natural Resources, Robert Persaud, will assume the role of Foreign Secretary, while former Foreign Minister Carl Greenidge will be Advisor on Borders. And Ambassador Audrey Waddell will be appointed Permanent Secretary.
“The individuals identified will aid in the Ministry’s foreign relations, technical and administrative capacity, as well as serve to strengthen my ministerial mandate,” Todd said.
Reiterating that the new appointees will play an integral role in the advancement of Guyana’s Foreign policy agenda.
