Cane Grove man fatally stabbed

Police are investigating the death of  48 year old Khemraj Sukhna called ‘Bowe’ who was fatally stabbed on Saturday night at Coconut Dam, Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara.

According to a police reports the man was stabbed sometime after 21:00 on Saturday.
Police said that the deceased and the suspect were imbibing at Coconut Dam when they had an argument which resulted in a fight. The suspect left and went home leaving the deceased.
Around  21:30hrs the deceased went home and met the suspect and an argument ensued between them once more. The suspect allegedly  picked up a knife and stabbed the deceased to the right chest and to left arm. The deceased collapsed and fell on a mattress in the varendah.

Police said around  02:40hrs on Sunday, the suspect went to the Cane Grove Police Station and reported that he and the deceased had a fight. He said the deceased fell on a knife and sustain injuries before becoming lifeless.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the scene and on arrival the deceased was found face up on a mattress in the verandah motionless.

The body was examined and found with a wound to the right chest and left arm. The scene was processed and a blood-stained knife, suspected to be the murder weapon, was found.

The body was escorted to the Lyken Funeral Parlour awaiting a a post mortem examination.
According to the police , the suspect’s  body was examined and was seen with injuries to the right side of his head and left foot. When questioned, he claimed that he received his injuries when he and the deceased had a scuffle.
He was escorted to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital to seek medical attention.
