…leaves one with third-degree burns, other with broken leg

Two sisters were left with multiple injuries after being attacked by the lover of one of the sisters who refused to share her phone password with her partner. Hot water, wood lashes and more left the two with a range of injuries such as second-degree burns and a broken leg.

According to police report, the incident took place on Monday in Region Ten at about 23:30 hours. On the day in question, the two victims were at the perpetrator’s home when an argument erupted over the cellphone of the sister he shared a relationship with.

When he did not succeed in having her input the password to open the phone, he armed himself with a mug of hot water and threw it on her, causing her to receive second-degree burns to her right side face. He then armed himself with a piece of wood from the yard and dealt her a blow to her head causing her to receive injuries.

Her sister tried to separate them but the perpetrator picked up a three-inch block and dealt her a lash to her lower right leg which broke her leg. She received further lashes about her body and head before he made good his escape, leaving the two victims lying in the yard covered with blood about their bodies.

The two sisters were both admitted to the Linden Hospital Complex where they were treated and are in stable condition.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, at about 03:10 hours, the perpetrator turned himself in at the Mackenzie Police Station where he was told of the allegation, cautioned and admitted to having inflicted the injuries on both victims.

He was then arrested and placed into custody pending further investigation.
