64 new COVID-19 cases in three days

Guyana has recorded 64 COVID-19 cases in three days, Chief Medical Officer Shamdeo Persaud said on Monday.

In his daily briefing Dr Persaud said that as of August 9th; the number of persons tested stood at 5, 313 with 4,745 persons being negative. The total number of tests done is 6,524.
The number of positive cases has climbed to 568, with 22 COVID related deaths. There are 357 active cases in Institutional Isolation, 38 persons in institutional quarantine and 4 persons in the COVID-ICU. To date, 189 persons have recovered.

Over the period 7-10 August, 64 new cases were reported; these cases came from Regions 9, 7, 8 and once more Region 4.
