It is alleged that being awakened by the toddler’s cries, the mother attempted to breastfeed her but the toddler refused. Further inquiries revealed that the deceased mother was at home sleeping when she was awoken by her daughter’s crying.

She then attempted to breastfeed the child but the child refused. A little while later she observed that her daughter’s body suddenly broke out in convulsions before finally stopping and the toddler thereafter remained motionless.

The matter was later reported to the Acquero Police Station. A PME is expected shortly as inquiries continue.
