Mozart Kennedy (born Kennedy  Frederick) is a Brooklyn artist of Grenadian descent. His new single, “Trophy,” celebrates love,  confidence and making women feel valued. It is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Kennedy grew up listening to dancehall, and that influence comes through naturally in his music.  On “Trophy,” listeners may hear the smooth, melodic delivery that fans of artists like Popcaan  will recognise, blended with Kennedy’s own Brooklyn sound.

“Trophy” is about recognizing a special woman as the prize in one’s life. The song tells women  they deserve to feel loved, seen and celebrated. Kennedy wants every woman who hears it to feel  like the best person in the room, confident and sure of her worth.

For Kennedy, making “Trophy” was pure joy. The song came from a simple, happy place: the  feeling of appreciating someone special and wanting her to know it. He then connected with a  producer to bring the record to life, and he says that same good energy carried through every step  of the process.

“Dancehall was always playing when I was growing up, and it shaped how I hear melody and  rhythm,” said Kennedy. “I wrote ‘Trophy’ because I believe every woman deserves to feel  celebrated, not just on special occasions but every day. I had so much fun making it, and I want  people to feel that when they press play. Jamaica has given the world so much great music, so  sharing this song with Jamaican listeners means a lot to me.”

At its heart, “Trophy” honours the woman who makes life feel like a win. Kennedy wants the  song to do more than pay compliments. He wants it to create a feeling that helps women see their  beauty, embrace their confidence and know they deserve appreciation.

With “Trophy” now available worldwide, Kennedy is reaching out to listeners in Jamaica and  across the Caribbean, introducing his music to the audience whose sound helped shape it.

It’s a feel-good record made with love, and it’s meant to be shared. Sometimes the most  meaningful messages start with the simplest intentions.

“Trophy” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
