Today, Guyana mourns the passing of a man who dedicated a significant part of his life to the service of his country.

Robert Corbin was more than a political leader. He was a man who devoted himself to public life, to his principles, and to the belief that Guyana could become a better place for all of its people.

Throughout his years in politics, he stood firmly for the causes and principles he believed in, carrying the responsibilities of leadership through difficult and changing times. His contribution to Guyana’s political history will remain a part of our nation’s story.

I joined politics and met Cde Corbin, it is because of him I remain.

Today, regardless of political affiliation, we can pause to recognize a Guyanese who gave decades of his life to public service.

To his amazing family and all those who knew and respected him, I extend my deepest condolences.

Robert Harmon Orlando Corbin, the man is no more but his memory lives on through the work he did, the people he touched, and the generations of Guyanese who will remember his contribution.

Rest in peace, my leader.

May God grant his family strength and comfort during this difficult time
