By GHK Lall- The PPP must be recognized. Plan B broadcast. A senior police office testifying in court. Murder allegedly. Not one, but many. A decade, a decade and half earlier. Nothing like the PPP with a contingency. Should extradition fail, there is murder. A two-edged sword. I shall show more than two. Incidentally, thanks to Demerara Waves for its incisive, on-the-spot, reportage on the continuing saga of the Mohameds.
From Scripture there’s this saying: nothing stays hidden forever. From the secular world comes that arc swinging slowly, but mostly angling towards justice. From this corner, try this. Guyanese are docile. But Guyanese are not dumb. All that follows are, as alleged.
One murder can be contained by the Guyana Police Force. Has happened many times. Several murders are hard to keep out of sight for so long. Three at one pop, if I read well, would have been sensational. Insuppressible. Dr. Clifton Hicken was neither a doctor recognized by the world, nor the commissioner. Around, but not on top. Similarly, Dr. Irfaan Ali was not a practitioner in the field of those arts, not the president.
Thus, I submit before the court of public opinion (the only one that counts ultimately) that what is now heard in a Guyana court of law was bigger than the Guyana Police Force. Bigger than the then Hon Minister of Home Affairs.
Bigger than the then Minister of Law. If any of the testimony about multiple murders and the alleged murder has merit, then it as big as can get, and goes as high as can be in Guyana.
Try this. A corporal or a commander could not have ducked the Curacao gold boat, when info came from officials there. Guyanese are docile, but they are not dumb. Try this other one. Taxes on luxury vehicles not paid (enough) and the difficult developments that are now the subject of much controversies. A massive bill for hundreds of millions in duties not charged, not paid, is beyond the authority of a customs clerk, a customs chief. Recall those texts. Recall what they said. Recall who couldn’t recall.
Perhaps, the same occurred with those murders. This is certain: there were murders, many that grew colder than the MV Barima murders. And in the manner of the MV Barima murders, besides three scapegoats, there are no other murderers. Until now, as alleged, for those when blood spilled years ago. Law and order, one honorable gentleman likes to remind everyone. Respect for both has been a constant subtitle from that same character.
I change gears. The Mohameds have been served notice. Murder charges could be coming, as the PPP Govt’s fallback option, should the courts rule against extradition. It would be interesting to hear how the Mohameds counter murder one with one blast of their own. It’s a desperate time, I remind everyone. The PPP Govt is desperate (and its shows). Similar desperation is noted for the Mohameds (and that also shows).
Mr. Mohamed-Opposition Leader, former PPP superstar, now courageous fighter for Guyanese-circulated a clip that came to me. He spoke about who didn’t know him when he was this supposed criminal, and who don’t know his bulletproof vehicle in which they hid. To that I add, who don’t him as their bankroller. The arc of the universe swings….
The questions I put before Guyanese (and Americans on Duke Street and Washington) are these: what other roles did Mr. Mohamed have, may have, performed for PPP Govts of past years? There was a phantom squad, probably several. There are many unsolved murders. There should be many Police files, likely doctored. I reframe: murder came out against his name in a court. What other murders does he know of, and who were the intellectual authors and sponsors, remain so? I present a clue.
The more the PPP of recent, the disinfected and perfumed PPP, tries to dodge its intimate relationship with the Mohameds, the more it sticks to the party and government. The more to its brain trust. Recall that call post U.S. sanctions: the Guyana Police, the GRA, should investigate thoroughly. Both must do so cleanly, if capable. If both the ruling party and the two entities have the integrity, the guts.
My God! There’s blood in the streets of Guyana. The deflections and deviousness now boomerang, pieces daily. Murders and coverups at the highest levels. In the Police. Above the Police. False witness borne against the uninvolved in efforts to deny PPP Govt involvement. Attack others to defend the PPP Govt’s crimes.
This is what Americans condone under democracy’s flag. Because of oil, economic and war’s lifeblood. This was where murders and connections led, coagulated. This is where PPP Govt partnership (bankroller) termination, sanctions, and extradition settle. Crimes rise from their graves. The arc of the universe is alive. Nothing stays hidden comes to light. There is a God.
