In an interview marking the observance of the 58th World Rotaract Week (March 9–15, 2026), President of the Rotaract Club of Georgetown Central, Harrinarine Balram, described the successful chartering of the Interact Club of St. Stanislaus College as a defining milestone for youth development and community service in Guyana.

“This is more than just the formation of a new club, it is an investment in the next generation of leaders,” Balram stated. “World Rotaract Week is about celebrating impact and there is no better way to do so than by expanding opportunities for young people to lead, serve and grow.”

The Interact Club of St. Stanislaus College, officially chartered through the joint efforts of the Rotaract Club and the Rotary Club of Georgetown Central, represents a significant step in strengthening the Rotary movement’s presence among secondary school students. The initiative aims to cultivate leadership, teamwork and a lifelong commitment to community service.

The newly established Interact Club will be led by its Charter President, Miss Makenna Gale-Ann Howard, with Sir Emanuel Narine serving as the club’s Advisor. According to Balram, their leadership will be instrumental in setting a strong foundation for the club’s future.

He also acknowledged the critical support that made the initiative possible. “This achievement would not have been realised without the unwavering support of the Rotary Club of Georgetown Central and the openness of the Board of St. Stanislaus College. Their willingness to invest in youth empowerment speaks volumes about their commitment to community development,” Balram added.

As the Interact Club of St. Stanislaus College begins its journey, Balram expressed optimism about its impact. “We are proud to welcome them into the Rotary family. This is just the beginning and we look forward to seeing the incredible work they will accomplish.”
