STEMGuyana has officially entered into a new regional partnership with the Eastern Caribbean Robotics and Innovation Association (ECRIA), strengthening collaboration in robotics, innovation, and STEAM education across the Caribbean. The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in February 2026, establishing STEMGuyana as a member organization within the regional network and expanding opportunities for collaboration, student participation, and knowledge exchange in robotics and emerging technologies.

As part of this meaningful regional engagement, STEMGuyana will be represented at the upcoming OECS Super Regional Robotics Challenge, which will take place from March 16–20, 2026 in St. Kitts and Nevis. The event, hosted in collaboration with the St. Kitts and Nevis Robotics Association, brings together talented student teams from across the Caribbean to showcase innovation, engineering excellence, teamwork, and problem-solving through robotics competitions and technology demonstrations.

Ms. Elsie Harry, Member of the Board of Directors and Fundraising Coordinator for STEMGuyana, will deliver remarks on behalf of the organization at the Opening Ceremony on March 17 at the St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort. She also serves as STEMGuyana’s Liaison to ECRIA, helping to build bridges between Guyana and regional robotics and innovation initiatives.

In accepting the invitation to address the opening ceremony, Ms. Harry noted that the partnership marks an important step toward deeper Caribbean cooperation in technology education and youth development.

“Regional collaboration is critical if we are to prepare Caribbean youth for the rapidly evolving global technology landscape. Through this partnership with ECRIA, STEMGuyana looks forward to strengthening opportunities for students in Guyana to engage in robotics, innovation, and collaborative learning across the Caribbean; while sharing some of our best practices in the STEM field with our regional counterparts.”

Although STEMGuyana will not field a team in this year’s challenge, the organization has indicated its intention to send Guyanese students to future Eastern Caribbean competitions as part of its ongoing expansion of robotics education initiatives.

Founded to promote equitable access to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education, STEMGuyana has worked extensively with young people across Guyana to build technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and entrepreneurial thinking. Through robotics programs, coding workshops, and mentorship initiatives, the organization continues to empower youth with the tools needed to participate in the digital economy.

The new partnership with ECRIA further strengthens these efforts by creating pathways for Guyanese students to participate in regional robotics competitions, collaborate with peers from across the Caribbean, and gain exposure to advanced STEAM learning opportunities.

Ms. Harry’s participation in the opening ceremony underscores STEMGuyana’s commitment to regional cooperation and the shared vision of cultivating the next generation of Caribbean innovators, engineers, and technology leaders.
