As the Cooperative Republic of Guyana commemorates 56 years as a Republic, the Institute for Action Against Discrimination (IFAAD) extends warm greetings to all Guyanese at home and in the diaspora.

Republic status represents more than a constitutional milestone; it affirms our collective resolve to govern ourselves with dignity, equality, and respect for the rule of law. It embodies the aspiration that every citizen—regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, or social standing—must be afforded equal protection, opportunity, and voice within our national life.

At this important juncture, IFAAD reiterates its unwavering commitment to combating discrimination in all its forms and to advancing social cohesion, inclusion, and justice. The strength of our Republic lies in our diversity and in our shared responsibility to ensure that development, prosperity, and national progress are anchored in fairness and human rights.

As Guyana continues its journey of growth and transformation, we call on all stakeholders—government, civil society, the private sector, and citizens alike—to renew their dedication to unity, tolerance, and mutual respect. Together, we must safeguard democratic values and ensure that no one is left behind.

On this Republic Anniversary, let us reaffirm our commitment to a Guyana where equality is not merely promised, but practiced; where differences are respected; and where our Republic stands as a home of opportunity and justice for all.

Happy 56th Republic Anniversary, Guyana.
