GPL Reliability Claims Challenged Amid Ongoing Blackouts

Dear Editor,

Believe it or not, at the Energy Conference GPL CEO Kesh Nandlall boasted that we have increased generation capacity substantially since 2020, for example he states; that GPL has increased power generation from 903 gigawatt hours in 2020 to 1,485 gigawatt hours – a 65% increase during the period, etc. In his statement he used the word “reliable”, my English teachers and his misinformed us about the meaning of reliable. Believe it or not, this week in my area we had “blackout” on three occasions.
