Pinktober 2025 a huge success

Guyana’s justice reforms lead to quicker criminal proceedings, reduced backlog

Yesterday, One Communications and the Ministry of Health hosted the annual One Pinktober Breast Cancer Awareness Walk under the theme Act Now, Live Strong.
As part of the activity, One Communications sashed 15 survivors, 15 fighters and 15 caregivers.
The Ministry of Health provided multiple services throughout the event, which kicked off at Scouts Ground.
Participants took advantage of free health services offered on-site by the Ministry of Health, including:
· Vital Signs Check: Blood pressure and blood sugar testing.
· Health Vouchers & Screenings:
· $10,000 Universal Health Voucher – available for both adults and children.
· HPV screening – for cervical cancer prevention.
· Eye testing – available for persons under 18 and over 50 years old.
· $15,000 Spectacles Voucher – for eligible persons who received the slip from their eye test.
· On-site Laboratory & Eye Testing: Participants can take the opportunity to complete screening right at the venue.
We were also pleased to highlight One Communications’ Champions of Hope, a coalition of NGOs dedicated to cancer awareness, prevention, and support:
1.    The Guyana Cancer Society
2.    Recover Guyana
3.    The Periwinkle Club
4.    The Giving Hope Foundation
5.    Cancer Institute of Guyana
6.    Beacon Foundation
7.    The Debra Shipley George GoCare Foundation
8.    Family Awareness Consciousness and Togetherness (FACT)
9.    Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association (GRPA)
Shout out to Extreme Constructions Inc and team for donating Two Million Dollars to the Guyana Cancer Society to support its efforts for the remainder of 2025 and for 2026.
