Bachelor’s Adventure man killed in three vehicle accident

A 28-year-old Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara (ECD) man was on Friday killed in an accident on the Foulis Public Road after the motorcycle he was driving collided into two other vehicles. The accident occurred at about 09:05h.

According to reports, the accident occurred among a van, driven by 49-year-old Anne Bristol of Hope Low Land, ECD, a minibus driven by 41-year-old Balwant Persaud of Supply, Mahaica, ECD and the deceased, Travis Wickham.

Police in a statement said the van was proceeding west on the Foulis Public Road when Wickham, who was proceeding east on the said road at an alleged fast rate lost control and collided with van then into the minibus which was proceeding west behind the van.

“As a result of the collision the motorcyclist fell onto the road surface where he received injuries to his head and about his body. He was picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to the Georgetown Public hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty,” Police said in the statement.

Wickham’s body is at the Georgetown Public Hospital mortuary awaiting a scheduled post mortem examination.

Both, Bristol and Persaud are in police custody assisting with investigations.
