In a move aimed at strengthening Hindu solidarity and religious growth across the Caribbean, Pandit Ubraj Narine, Religious Secretary and Priest in Charge of the Guyana Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha (GSDMS), recently held discussions with Dharmacharya Pt. Dr. Rampersad Parasram and Secretary General Vijay Maharaj of the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha Trinidad and Tobago (SDMS).

The high-level meeting focused on deepening collaboration between the two prominent Hindu organisations. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Sanatan Dharma through shared initiatives in education, youth involvement, priest training, and inter-temple cooperation.

The dialogue highlighted the shared cultural and spiritual heritage of Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, two nations with significant Hindu populations and long standing traditions rooted in Sanatan Dharma. Among the initiatives discussed were religious exchanges, cultural programs, and training opportunities for young priests and devotees, aimed at preserving and modernizing spiritual practices for future generations.

Expressing his appreciation for the warm hospitality received during his visit, Pt. Ubraj Narine underscored the importance of regional unity.

“Our goal is to ensure that Sanatan Dharma continues to thrive in the region, especially among the younger generation. Through collaboration, we can preserve our sacred traditions while adapting to the modern world,” he stated.

Both Dharmacharya Parasram and Secretary General Maharaj praised the ongoing work of the GSDMS and welcomed the initiative as a step toward deeper regional religious solidarity.

The organisations have committed to continuing their dialogue and developing joint programs that will enhance the practice and propagation of Sanatan Dharma not only in Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, but throughout the wider Caribbean.

This partnership marks a significant moment for Hindu communities in the region, setting a foundation for greater collaboration, cultural preservation, and spiritual growth.
