The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA), led by President Godfrey Munroe and its Executive Committee, has officially unveiled the logo for the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) General Assembly & Workshop 2025, to be hosted in Guyana from October 17–20 at the Pegasus Suites Guyana.

The newly revealed design, vibrant and symbolic, aims to capture the essence of Guyana’s natural beauty, cultural richness, and national pride, while also reflecting the spirit and values of the Olympic Movement. The logo incorporates several powerful elements emblematic of Guyana’s heritage and its aspirations for the future.

Key features of the logo include:

  • The Majestic Jaguar – representing strength, resilience, and guardianship, as Guyana’s national animal.

  • Kaieteur Falls – a symbol of the nation’s breathtaking natural wonders.

  • The Olympic Torch – denoting excellence, friendship, and unity through sport.

  • The Golden Touch – referencing both Guyana’s gold-rich resources and the pursuit of achievement.

  • Modern Infrastructure – visual nods to the oil and gas sector, bridges, and canopy walkways highlight the country’s rapid development.

  • Wildlife and Natural Heritage – lush tropical flora and fauna underscore Guyana’s role as a steward of biodiversity.

According to the GOA, these elements collectively showcase Guyana as both a protector of nature and an emerging hub of regional progress — an ideal host for CANOC’s prestigious gathering.

GOA President Godfrey Munroe stated that the unveiling represents a major milestone in the lead-up to the October event, which will bring together key figures from across the Caribbean’s sporting landscape.

“This logo proudly presents Guyana to the Caribbean and the world,” Munroe said. “It captures who we are – a country of resilience, beauty, and progress – and reflects the unifying spirit of sport that CANOC embodies.”

The CANOC General Assembly & Workshop 2025 is expected to further strengthen regional collaboration, celebrate Caribbean athletic excellence, and solidify Guyana’s place in the regional and international sporting arena.
