As the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) officially declared the results of the 2025 General and Regional Elections, former Mayor of Georgetown and prominent People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) member, Pt. Ubraj Narine, has issued a heartfelt message of resilience and renewal to the party’s supporters.

Acknowledging the election outcome, Narine affirmed, “While we must accept this outcome, I want to assure each of you that this is not the end of our journey.” His statement signaled a call to action for the PNCR to begin the hard work of rebuilding from the ground up. Emphasising the importance of unity and grassroots mobilisation, he urged the party to “rebuild—starting from the grassroots, strengthening at every level, and working tirelessly to reconnect with the people who place their faith in us.”

To the thousands who supported the PNCR during this election cycle, Narine extended a message of hope and commitment: “We will come again, stronger and more united. Let us move forward as one team, committed to you, committed to service, and committed to the values we hold dear.”

Despite the political outcome, Narine reaffirmed his personal dedication to the Guyanese people, stating, “Whether I serve in office or not, I remain dedicated to you, to our cause, and to our future. I love you all deeply.” His words strike a chord of determination and patriotism, grounded in the belief that public service transcends elected office.

In his closing remarks, Narine called for peace and unity in the country: “May peace and tranquility always prevail in our nation. May God bless each of you, may God bless our beautiful country, and may God continue to bless the People’s National Congress Reform.”

The statement by the former City Mayor comes at a pivotal time as political parties assess their positions in the wake of the election results. While GECOM’s declaration has confirmed a victory for the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPPC), voices like Narine’s suggest that the PNCR is already setting its sights on reform, renewal, and future engagement with the electorate.
