In celebration of World Youth Skills Day on 15 July 2025, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Girls in ICT Partnership will launch a special career highlight series aimed at inspiring young women and girls across the Region.
The virtual campaign, titled ‘HERizon: CARICOM Women shaping STEAM’, will spotlight women in ICT and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), sharing their diverse career paths and achievements. The campaign aims to increase visibility, spark interest in ICT/STEAM careers, and demonstrate that women in the Region are thriving in these fields. It reinforces the priorities outlined in the CARICOM Girls in ICT Action Plan, including inclusive access, capacity-building, and gender equality in the digital economy.
Building on the momentum of this year’s successful Girls in ICT Day celebrations, the HERizon campaign will feature stories that celebrate women breaking barriers in both traditional and non-traditional tech fields.

About World Youth Skills Day
In 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared 15 July as World Youth Skills Day, to celebrate the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship. This year, the focus is on youth empowerment through AI and digital skills.
The day is used as an opportunity for technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions, firms, employers’ and workers’ organisations, policymakers and development partners to hold engagements with young people to highlight the ever-increasing significance of future-ready skills.
