As Guyanese across the globe mark the sacred celebration of Easter, the Institute for Action Against Discrimination (IFAAD) has issued a message of hope, unity, and reflection, urging citizens to embrace the true spirit of the season by recommitting to the principles of justice, inclusion, and compassion.

In its Easter greeting, the IFAAD extended warm wishes to all Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora, emphasising Easter as a time of resilience, renewal, and the enduring power of new beginnings.

“Easter is a time that reminds us of the power of resilience, compassion, and the promise of new beginnings,” the organization stated. “It is also a moment to reflect on the values of equality, justice, and togetherness—principles that resonate deeply with our mission at the IFAAD.”

The institute called on all citizens to use the holiday as an opportunity to stand in solidarity with one another, championing mutual respect and shared responsibility for fostering a fair and inclusive society.

“Our strength as a nation lies in our diversity, and in the shared commitment to building a society where every individual, regardless of race, religion, gender, or background, can thrive without fear of discrimination,” IFAAD said.

Reaffirming its commitment to human rights and social justice, the organization pledged to continue its advocacy for a Guyana where dignity and fairness are not aspirations, but lived realities.

“As communities gather to observe this sacred occasion, let us remember the importance of standing together in love and mutual respect,” the message read. “IFAAD reaffirms its dedication to fostering inclusion, defending human rights, and promoting a Guyana where dignity and fairness prevail for all.”

The message concluded with a heartfelt wish for a safe, joyful, and blessed Easter for all Guyanese.

Happy Easter, Guyana!
