Dear Editor,

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the month of fasting, Ramadan and the start of of Shawwal in the Islamic year. Eid Prayers are observed. Sweets and gifts are given, and extended family members and friends typically visit. Charity is distributed to the poor and the needy. In support of our fellow citizens it is only fitting to publicly recognise this sacred day as a National Holiday. May peace be upon you brothers and sisters.
