Keyon Davis of Hibernia Village Essequibo Coast was on Wednesday charged on two counts of setting fire to public buildings in Region Two.
He was arraigned before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court. Davis was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was placed on $200,000 bail on each charge.

According to the charges Davis allegedly set fire to a building being occupied by the Guyana Defence Force at Maria Lodge on July, 14 and also on the Criminal Investigation Department Office (CID) department located at the Anna Regina Police Station. The fire destroyed several sections of the buildings. Davis was arrested on July, 15, but he denied the allegations. The matter will come up again for hearing on August, 5 at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court.
