By Michelle Ann Joseph- Yesterday, the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) made a powerful statement along the Mashramani parade route, demonstrating unity and strength. Opposition Leader Cde. Aubrey C. Norton led a parade of party officials and supporters, and the turnout was impressive. Accompanied by music, waving flags, and supporters donning green t-shirts, the revellers exuded a strong sense of pride and unity.

Watching PNCR members and supporters strut along the streets in observance of Mashramani—a term derived from an Amerindian word meaning “Celebrating After Hard Work”—highlighted Guyana’s cultural diversity and achievements and endorsed Burnham’s vision of unity during this grand festival.

The display of cohesion along the parade route resonated both nationwide and among the diaspora, uniting hands, minds, and hearts to forge a stronger future for the country as it moves toward the next elections. This was evident in social media responses that include messages like “Long Live The PNC!”
