Core Nations, Inc., a majority Guyanese owned recruitment company, was awarded its Local Content Certificate on December 16th, 2024. In a statement issued the same day the organisation said it prioritises the employment of Guyanese nationals to build toward positive economic impact in the Guyanese labour market.
Chief Operating Officer of Nations, Inc., stated “We are thrilled to be able to now try to employ the more than 12,000 graduates we have in areas such as management, HSE, welding and various other technical trades. Our recent graduates from the City and Guilds Welding and Engineering classes are being encouraged to apply to Core Nations to fill existing positions in the Oil & Gas sector.”
Core Nations is a partnership between Core Group Resources, a global personnel service provider headquartered in the US specializing in the Oil & Gas, Maritime, Construction, and Mining industries, coupled with key Guyanese partners including Liam O’Toole with Nations Incorporated and Rene Hamilton with AmGuy.

Core Nations has partnered with Nations, Inc., to help place local staff into positions in the Guyana Oil & Gas sector. In May 2024, His Excellency Dr. Irfaan Ali awarded Nations, Inc., 3,000 scholarships for the City and Guilds Welding programme. Over the past 6 weeks, more than 80 welders have completed the programme.
The creation of Core Nations marks Core Group’s second international foray after entering Trinidad and Tobago earlier this year. Local operations in Guyana will focus on urgent labour demands as energy projects continue to thrive in Guyana and growth continues in Oil & Gas exploration, in addition to the growth of the nation’s Maritime, Construction and Mining industries.
