93-year-old man and 71-year-old woman latest COVID-19 fatalities

A 93-year old man and a 71-year-old woman of Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) are the country’s latest COVID-19 fatalities. The death of the duo has taken the death toll to 158.

Both persons died while receiving medical attention.

The Ministry of Health in a statement urged citizens to observe the protocols of the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES (NO.11), which are in effect until December 31, 2020. This order emphasises the need for correct and consistent use of a face mask when leaving your home; the importance of maintaining the six feet physical distance from others; and the need for good hand-hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
