(ECNS) China said on Wednesday that the presidential elections are the internal affairs of the United States and the country has no comments on the matters after U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate in the 2024 election.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning expressed hope that the U.S. will work with China in the same direction and act in the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation to promote stable, sound and sustainable development of bilateral ties, so as to benefit the two countries and beyond.
