The arrest was made by CID ranks who were on mobile patrol in the area. As the police explained, “The ranks were on mobile patrol in a Police car when they acted on information received and went to Supenaam waterfront at a boat house, where they met Matthew Beharry.”

“The ranks conducted a search of Beharry and the boat house and found a bulky black plastic bag which contained a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be Cannabis,” the Guyana Police Force reported.

When confronted, Beharry attempted to distance himself from the drugs, saying, “Officer, it is not my own.”

However, the police proceeded with the arrest.  (Loop News).
